One of the primary goals of our club is that
each player fulfils his educational commitments to the minimum of
achieving his high school education. in addition to this we will highly
encourage and promote our players in pursuit of obtaining a college
scholarship to Canadian and U.S. colleges.
The O.C.N. Blizzard
organization has established a very good rapport with many college
scouts and in the three year operation of the club three players have
been fortunate enough to obtain scholarships. The list of players
includes Kevin Wilson(Lake Superior State), Shawn Rose(Northern Michigan),
and Preston McKay and and Tom Herman(Fairbanks, Alaska).
Our organization
is very committed to helping Blizzard players obtain scholarships
and has established the following plan of action for all players:
- Letters/schedule
sent to all colleges
- Player bios and resumes of all players sent to selected schools
and accessible through this site
- Phone contact/scout visitations
- Updated stats/phone calls throughout season and accessible through
this site
- Player visitations to interested colleges
~In order for
Blizzard players gaining college scouting recognition the club will
be offering accommodations for visiting major college scouts.
